history and coziness, and it is this very special atmosphere that we would like you to experience as a guest with us
Dear Guest
Here at Als Kloster, it exudes history and cosiness, and it is this very special atmosphere that we want you to experience with us.
The headline is "the good life" - and we put in the effort to be good hosts, decorate with good style and serve good food made from scratch. In the long term, our kitchen will be based on raw materials from our own gardens. A monastery always has both a vegetable garden, an herb garden and an orchard - and we are in the process of re-establishing them.
Whether you walk, cycle, sail or drive here, we are ready to welcome you.
Welcome to us here at Als Kloster.

We call it a country kitchen
A kitchen where everything is made from scratch using quality ingredients, and where flavour, hospitality and togetherness go hand in hand.
In the kitchen, we cook with care and respect for the traditions we grew up with. We bake our own bread, preserve seasonal produce, make use of local and organic ingredients whenever possible, and happily supplement our dishes with fruit, berries and vegetables from our own garden. It's not about elaborate fine dining, but about honest food, genuine hospitality and creating memorable moments around the table.
Whether you're enjoying our brunch, gathering around dinner, or treating yourself to a Southern Jutland Cake Symphony, we hope you'll experience the special sense of peace and atmosphere that makes Als Kloster so unique.
Destination Sønderjylland has made a nice little film about the South Jutland coffee table, and it is us here at Als Kloster who provided the backdrop and chef:
“Super cozy surroundings and great service. We had the Southern Jutland cake table - really nice introduction and 8 different cakes. Highly recommended”
Thomas

For us, avoiding food waste is not about fine words, but about respect for raw materials, good craftsmanship and the way in which rural cuisine has traditionally been run.

We have great respect for good raw materials and don't care about food waste.
That's why today's evening menu is often based on the season and the ingredients we already have in the kitchen. With us you won't find a fixed menu for dinner, but food made with care and the best from the kitchen that day.
Leftovers from our homemade focaccia become crispy croutons, leftover rye bread becomes Southern Jutland rye bread shortbread, and leftover cake is transformed into homemade rum balls.
